ivky Shimon
is the founder of Rivky's Art Workshop and the creator of the Rivky Method. She is an internationally acclaimed artist and art teacher.
Rivky was born in Tel Aviv,
Israel
and grew up there for sixteen years before moving to the
United States.
In Israel,
art is a part of the school curriculum and that introduction
really opened her up into having such a passion for working in
art and then, teaching it.
Her teacher noticed her abilities when she was 7 and her teacher kept
a close watch over Rivky's growth in art.
When she was about 9 or 10 years old, her teacher suggested
to Rivky's mother that Rivky be allowed to take private classes in addition to
the classes she was taking in school.
That attention and the additional art experience brought
out the little artist sitting inside of her.
She nurtured that little artist throughout the years as
her talents were further developed under the tutelage of
world-renowned European artists such as Gita Stern, Roman Yusin
and Ted Fogel. She
became an internationally acclaimed artist as well as a teacher over
17 years. Over
the years, she taught thousands of students and her teaching
experiences have helped her develop the Rivky Method.
When she learned how people respond to art and how they
learn to adjust to her teachings, she was able to craft the Rivky
Method into what it is today.
It is a teaching system that can be taught to anyone.
